Business Development
Manager

Full time · Remote

The role

You find and win the travel brands that should be working with us. The product is easy to show: a client portal where a brand creates a campaign or hands it to us, we build and run it, and every click, inquiry and booking is reported live, with a report they can share. Your job is the pipeline in front of that: finding the right tour operators, cruise lines, hotels, airlines and destination organizations, opening the conversation, running the first meetings, and taking a prospect from first call to a signed pilot or a first prepaid campaign. Then you hand the account to the people who run it, and stay close enough to see it renew.

What you will do

  • Build and work a pipeline of travel brands in the UK, US, EU and Australia, with marketing directors, heads of digital and owners as your contacts.
  • Research each prospect before you call: what they sell, where they advertise now, and what their season looks like.
  • Open conversations by email, phone and LinkedIn, and in person at the travel trade events worth the ticket.
  • Run the first meeting and the demo of the portal, with an audience sized for the prospect before they spend anything.
  • Write the proposal, agree the pilot or the first prepaid campaign, and close.
  • Keep the CRM true to life and report the pipeline every week: what is moving, what is stuck, and why.
  • Bring back what prospects say. The product changes when a buyer tells us something we did not know.

What you will bring

  • Working autonomously is essential: you run your own week, close your own loops and ask for help early, not after.
  • Reporting is essential: what you did, what moved and what is stuck, in writing, every week, without being asked.
  • Three or more years selling marketing, media or advertising services to brands, with a record against targets you can talk us through.
  • Travel is a strong advantage: selling to tour operators, hotels, airlines or tourist boards, or working inside one.
  • The ability to explain performance marketing plainly, to someone who has been burned by it before: audiences, paid media, attribution, what a click is worth.
  • Clear writing. Most of the first impressions you make will be an email.
  • Comfort on the phone and in the room, and the organization to run forty conversations at once without dropping one.
  • Curiosity about how the targeting works. You do not have to run a campaign, but you have to understand one.

Good to have

  • Contacts in the travel trade.
  • Experience with native advertising or programmatic media.
  • Experience selling to tourist boards and other public bodies, and patience with their procurement.
  • A second language used in one of our markets.
  • Using AI tools and automation in your own work: research, drafting, reporting, the repetitive parts.

What we offer

  • Senior work from the first day, with a product you can demonstrate rather than a deck you have to defend.
  • A salary plus commission on the business you win, discussed openly at the first conversation. We do not publish a band.
  • Remote, with the equipment you need.
  • A direct line to the people who build the product and run the campaigns, so a promise you make to a prospect is one we can keep.

How to apply

Email hello@thefifteen.uk with "Business Development Manager" in the subject line, your CV, and a short note: why this role, and one thing you have sold or run that you are proud of. No cover letter needed. We read every application ourselves and reply to everyone we take to a conversation.

You need the right to work in the UK. We hire on what you can do, welcome applications from everyone, and will make adjustments at any stage of the process if you need them.
